Ohio State Football vs. Rutgers Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 10
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team keeps marching along as one of the few undefeated teams left in the Power 5. Only five teams remain from the Power 5 that have yet to record a loss. At least one of them is guaranteed to have one as Ohio State and Michigan play each other.
If the Buckeyes want to keep that perfect record, they have to beat Rutgers this weekend. Ohio State heads to New Jersey to take on the Scarlet Nights on Saturday at noon on CBS. This won’t be an easy trip as Rutgers is 6-2 this season, only having lost to Michigan and Wisconsin.
Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Odds, Spread, and Total
According to FanDuel, the Buckeyes enter this game as 18.5-point favorites. They weren’t able to cover against Wisconsin after beating the Badgers by 14. The spread was 14.5. The over/under for this game sits at 42.5, which is about right for how Ohio State has played these games.
While Ohio State doesn’t have an explosive offense, their defense has done plenty to win games. Ryan Day isn’t worried about covering the spread. Keep that in mind if you decide to make some bets on this game. It’s also on the road in the cold just like the last game.
Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Key Players to Watch
On Ohio State’s side, I’m very interested to see how Kyle McCord responds to playing the worst game of his career. He had three total turnovers against the Badgers on Saturday night. He has to be better than that, especially against good teams on the road.
For Rutgers, keep an eye on Kyle Monangai. The running back has 744 yards and 7 touchdowns so far this season and gets 5.2 yards per carry. Rutgers’ focus is running the ball, so the Ohio State Buckeyes have to make sure they plug up the running holes.
Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Prediction and Pick
As good as Rutgers is, I don’t see them winning this game. They have lost to the only two good teams they’ve played so far this season. In fact, they could lose every game left on their schedule. They will likely be underdogs in every game they play from now on.
Ohio State’s defense is just too good to allow a team like Rutgers to upset them. Even if the offense isn’t firing on all cylinders, they should be good enough to score at least 27 points against the Scarlet Knights. Give me the Buckeyes 27-10.
