Ohio State Football vs. Wisconsin weather forecast
By Ryan Stano
If you live here in central Ohio, the weather has been absolutely gorgeous this entire week. The Ohio State football team has been able to practice outside without any issues as they prepare for a trip to Madison to take on Wisconsin under the lights in primetime.
Unfortunately, that nice weather is not going to follow the Buckeyes into Madison. They’ve been lucky so far to have relatively warm temperatures for games, even if some rain and wind have been involved. That won’t be the case this week. It’s about to get cold.
According to the Weather Channel, it will be 39 degrees when the Ohio State football team kicks off its game against the Badgers. The wind chill will have it feeling more like 33 degrees. That’s by far the coldest temperature that the Buckeyes have had to deal with this season.
By the time the game ends, it will drop down to 36 degrees, with the wind chill hovering around freezing. Not ideal for the players and even worse for the fans who will be sitting in the stands. The good news is that this cold weather isn’t accompanied by rain or wind.
The cold temperatures will feel uncomfortable but shouldn’t have any real effect on the game. Wisconsin will still try to run the ball up the middle and the Buckeyes will still try to get the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr. as much as possible. Those game plans don’t change.
This is about the time of year when the weather starts to change for these Big Ten football games. Ohio State wasn’t built to handle cold weather a couple of years ago. They better have toughened up this year because Wisconsin is a tough football team.
The game will be on at 7:30 on Saturday night on NBC. It should be another fun one to watch.
