Ohio State Football: Three Bold Predictions for Wisconsin game
Final Score: Ohio State football 34, Wisconsin 14
The Ohio State football team needs to be prepared for this game. As I said earlier this week, this could be a classic trap game for the Buckeyes. Coming off a big win last week, where I’m sure the players are still healing up from that physical contest, this Wisconsin team is solid enough to challenge the Buckeyes. And the crowd in Madison will more than certainly be up for the challenge.
Luckily for Ohio State, they won’t be going up against the veteran-starring QB Tanner Mordecai in this one as he’ll be out. And instead, they will see a freshman under center. That will help, especially later in the game. But I do believe the Badgers can keep this game close through halftime.
In the second half, I think the Buckeye offense will wake up. Look for Kyle McCord to really lock in with Marvin Harrison Jr. as he continues his Heisman push and will put up another monster game stat-wise. This could also be a game where we see a good dose of Cade Stover underneath the Badger coverage.
Defensively the key will be stopping Braelon Allen, who ran all over Illinois last week for 145 yards. If they can sell out on the run and turn the Badgers into a one-dimensional throwing team, good things will happen for Ohio State. I could definitely see some interceptions from the Buckeye secondary in this game.
Overall, the Buckeyes need to be prepared for this game, and if they are they should come out victorious. It might not be the prettiest game we’ve seen but the end result should be a double-digit win against a solid Big Ten foe.
