Final Score Prediction: Ohio State football 27, Penn State 24

I think this game has all the makings of being an instant classic. This is James Franklin’s best Penn State team since he’s been at the helm. Their defense is truly legitimate and is littered with future NFL players. This Buckeye offense will have to be on its “A” game if it wants to score.

Running the ball will be hard on the Nittany Lion front seven. We still are not sure if TreVeyon Henderson will suit up for this game or what Miyan Williams and Chip Traynum’s status are. Luckily for the Buckeyes, Dallan Hayden showed up in a big way last weekend and seems primed to carry the load if need be.

Look for a steady dose of Hayden as he does just enough in the run game to help Kyle McCord open up the play-action game downfield. I would certainly expect Ryan Day to take a few shots in this game, especially if Julian Fleming can get a one-on-one matchup downfield.

Defensively, the Buckeyes must lockdown Nicholas Singleton and the Penn State rushing attack. They seem to be at their best when they can run the ball at a four or five-yard per-carry clip. Stopping Singleton will be the key to victory for this Ohio State defense. And I think the Buckeye defensive line is up for the challenge as they turn the Nittany Lions into a one-dimensional passing team on Saturday afternoon.

And while Allar might put up some decent numbers and move the ball a little, in the end, the game might be just too big for such a young player. I think Ohio State does just enough on both sides of the ball to win this game and keep James Franklin and Penn State in their place for another year.
