Ohio State Football: Three Bold Predictions for the Penn State game
No. 2) Julian Fleming has a day for the Buckeyes.
Julian Fleming’s career at Ohio State has gone quietly under the radar, but he’s been a great Buckeye in his time in Columbus. Known as one of the best blocking receivers in all of college football, Fleming will have a chance this Saturday to be a focal point for the offense.
Penn State will not want a repeat of last season when Marvin Harrison Jr. torched them for 185 yards on 10 receptions. I would expect defensive coordinator Manny Diaz to try and blanket Marv with multiple defenders in this game.
And with Emeka Egbuka’s status uncertain, I would expect Julian Fleming to emerge as a go-to target for Kyle McCord in this game. We’ve yet to see Flemming take the top off a defense this season like he’s done in the past. Look for that to change this upcoming weekend.
I’m predicting a stat line of six receptions for 115 yards, including a big deep shot of 50 or 60 yards for a touchdown. The former Pennsylvania native, five-star receiver will have his biggest day as a Buckeye in one of the biggest games he’s been a part of.
