Ohio State Football: Ohio State opens as early favorite vs. PSU
The Ohio State football team opens as an early favorite against Penn State for next weekend’s huge Big Ten East showdown.
The Ohio State football team is favored to win next Saturday’s clash against Penn State as the line is at -4.5, according to Fan Duel. This should be a great contest between two of the best teams in the country.
Ohio State has a perfect 6-0 record but is only 3-3 against the spread while Penn State also has a perfect 6-0 record but is 6-0 against the spread this season. And while Penn State has not beaten the Buckeyes since 2016, this is probably their best chance at doing so in that time span.
The Nittany Lions come in with one of the nation’s top defenses led by pass rusher Chop Robinson, who has three sacks on the season and will be a handful for this Ohio State offensive line. Penn State’s defense also has one of the better cover corners in all of college football in Kalen King, who played very good football in the Ohio State game last year in Happy Valley.
But for all the talk of Penn State’s stout defense, they also have an offense that can compete with the Buckeyes too. Quarterback Drew Allar might be the best QB that this Ohio State defense has seen yet as he has a rocket of an arm and a gun-slinger mentality. The Medina, Ohio native has thrown for over 1,200 yards and has 12 touchdown passes on the season with zero interceptions.
You know these former Buckeye State native quarterbacks that Penn State always seems to have love trying to stick it to Ohio State when coming into Ohio Stadium. I’d expect no different from Allar.
Overall, this should be an exciting game that should come down to the fourth quarter. It will be decided by who makes the big plays late and I can’t wait to watch and see if these Buckeyes can come up clutch again. Keep it locked into Scarlet and Game for coverage all week.
