The Ohio State football team takes on Purdue this afternoon. It is the first time the Buckeyes have visited West Lafayette since that infamous visit in 2018. They are trying to avenge that terrible loss that kept them out of the College Football Playoff.

They will have to contend with some bad weather in order to do so. When the weather is bad, it’s always nice to have a full and healthy team. Unfortunately, that’s not something the Buckeyes are going to be able to do today as they are missing a key player and might be missing another.

Emeka Egbuka did not travel with the team to West Lafayette and is out for the game. He suffered a knee injury last week against Maryland. They will try to get him rested for next week’s mega-showdown against Penn State. Hopefully, the Buckeyes won’t need him.

Someone the Ohio State football team showed they needed after last week is TreVeyon Henderson. He missed last week with an injury. He is a game-time decision for today’s game despite Ryan Day saying he expected him to play. I guess his body didn’t quite respond as well as they initially thought it would.

I think Henderson will still play. They really need him to because Miyan Williams is out. He has an undisclosed injury that will keep him out of today’s matchup. If Henderson can’t go, it will be up to Chip Trayanum to burden the majority of the load. Dallan Hayden could end up getting some playing time too.

This is not an ideal scenario for a backfield that has struggled to get the running game going this year. Most of that hasn’t been the running backs’ fault, but it would still be nice to have everyone available to maximize that aspect of the game in some bad weather.
