3. The Ohio State football team must win the turnover battle

Turnovers are a great equalizer when a less-talented team takes on a powerhouse. That’s exactly what Purdue is going to try to make Ohio State do on Saturday; turn the ball over. It’s the best chance that the Boilermakers have of completing another epic upset.

Ohio State has done a really good job of limiting turnovers this season. They only have turned it over three times this year. Only Penn State, Oregon, and the Air Force have turned it over less. Ohio State doesn’t beat themselves by giving the ball away.

That needs to continue this weekend. On the flip side, they need to force Purdue into some turnovers. They forced two of them last week against Maryland, including a pick-six. Turning over Purdue will silence the crowd and keep the momentum with the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State football team needs to keep the crowd out of this one. It’s a noon game, so that helps. Keeping the crowd out of it keeps the momentum with the Buckeyes and gives them the best chance to win on the road. Creating turnovers helps with that.
