Final Score: Ohio State football 48, Purdue 7

This Ohio State football team should be mad entering this weekend’s matchup with Purdue. They did not play especially well last week against Maryland, and it’s time for them to start showing that they can be a dominant team.

Offensively, Ryan Day needs to start letting Kyle McCord off the leash. Give him easy reads and let him eat. They will need every bit of a confident Kyle McCord next week when Penn State comes to Ohio Stadium for a visit.

The running game is a non-factor right now for the Buckeyes. Sooner or later they either have to figure that out or lean into being a pass-first team. This might be the week where they do the latter.

Defensively, these linebackers want to prove that they can still play at a 2022 level. They need to play free and loose as this game should allow them an opportunity to do just that. The Boilermaker offense is not very good. And while Hudson Card does have talent, he’s yet to put it all together at the college level.

I think this game will represent the best of what Ohio State can be following a lackluster performance last Saturday against Maryland. Look for the Buckeyes to win big.
