Ohio State football: The next big WR is coming to Columbus
By Eric Boggs
The Ohio State football team has landed a new commitment in junior three-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs from Cocoa, Florida. Boggs, who camped with the Buckeyes this past summer, earned a committable offer from Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes this past June following his performance at the camp.

Although Boggs is currently only a three-star, reports are that he will be much higher when the recruiting services review film from this season. He had offers from all three major Florida schools as well as from Deon Sanderson and Colorado.
Boggs has good size at 6-1 190 lbs. and has been compared to former Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was also a three-star receiver after his sophomore year of high school when Hartline spotted his talent before anyone else did. Smith-Njigba famously went on to have a great finish to his high school career and became a five-star recruit when it was all said and done.
As a sophomore last season, Boggs caught 41 balls for 722 yards and six touchdowns. He was the second-leading receiver on a Cocoa High School team that finished 11-3 and won a Florida 2M state championship. So far this year he has had a JSN-like campaign, catching 48 passes for 779 yards and 14 scores.
We know that the Ohio State football program does the best job of anyone in the country at developing receivers. That’s a big reason why Boggs chose the Buckeyes. He wants to be developed into an NFL talent and he knows that Brian Hartline can do that.
This is Ohio State’s second commitment for the class of 2025. Boggs joins quarterback Tavien St. Clair from Bellefontaine, Ohio as the other high school junior to make a decision on being a Buckeye in 2025.
