The Ohio State football team has gotten very lucky with the weather so far this season. They haven’t played in any sort of bad weather. It’s been hot for a few games but not sweltering out there. They haven’t played in any windy or rainy conditions either.

That will change this week with an undefeated Maryland team coming into town. The Buckeyes won’t get to play in 77 degrees and sunny skies for the fifth straight game. Instead, the weather might actually aid Maryland a bit in this one.

According to the Weather Channel, it will be 53 degrees around kickoff at noon. That’s significantly colder than what the Ohio State football team has had to play in so far this season. It will also be mostly cloudy and fairly windy, with winds being 12 mph sustained and they could gust higher.

By the end of the game, it will be about 55 degrees. Unfortunately, there will be a chance of rain in the second half. There will be about 30% of showers by then. That could definitely affect the game plan for these two teams. This would likely hinder Maryland more as they like to throw it around more than Ohio State does.

This is the first game of the season in which weather could play a factor. Ohio State is too talented to let the weather significantly affect them in my opinion. They will just run the ball more often if the wind picks up too much. TreVeyon Henderson is ready to get carries.

A lot can change between now and then. We all know how quickly Ohio weather can change, so keep your eye on the forecast as the game gets closer. By the time the game starts, it could end up raining at kickoff for all we know.
