Remember when we thought we knew what the Ohio State football team’s schedule was going to be for the next couple of seasons? That turned out to be rubbish once the Big Ten grabbed Oregon and Washington to join the conference. All of the conference schedules had to be redone.

Now we are learning who the Buckeyes will take on in the conference in the next five years (at least how the conference is currently constructed). Ohio State will get six home conference games in 2024, 2026, and 2028 while only five in 2025 and 2027. The conference is going to a nine-game Big Ten schedule.

One important note is that The Game remains untouched. That means the Ohio State football team will still play TTUN in the last game of the season every year. They rotate opponents with everyone else in the next five years, however. That includes Penn State.

In 2024, the only newcomer that the Buckeyes will face is Oregon. That game will be on the road. That’s probably a good thing considering the Buckeyes, 2025 schedule is much tougher. They have to take on Washington, UCLA, Penn State, and TTUN. They also host Texas in the non-conference portion of the schedule.

2026 sees the Buckeyes get Oregon at home and USC on the road. That flips in 2027 as they will travel to Eugene and host the Trojans. In 2028, the Buckeyes get Washington at home and will travel to take on UCLA. All of the other opponents are old Big Ten foes.

Looking at the schedules right now, Ohio State’s two toughest years are 2025 and 2028. We already told you about the 2025 schedule, but 2028 sees the Buckeyes play away games against UCLA, Penn State, and Alabama while also having to play TTUN, Wisconsin, and Washington. That’s absolutely brutal!
