The Ohio State football team is getting set to play Maryland this Saturday in Ohio Stadium. Here are three predictions for the big game.

The Ohio State football team is preparing for the Maryland Terrapins as they invade Ohio Stadium this Saturday afternoon. The Buckeyes are heavy favorites as the line is up to -19.5 according to Fan Duel.

But the Terrapins come into this game confident and ready to pull the upset. After almost successfully doing it last season in College Park, Maryland wants revenge this Saturday. They are flying high right now off to a 5-0 start, which includes a 44-17 beat down of Indiana last weekend.

But Ohio State comes into this game well rested after the bye week and Ryan Day is undefeated following regular season bye weeks as the Buckeye head coach. Here are three predictions for the game.

No. 1) Maryland tries to do what it does best but is unsuccessful.

If Maryland football has been known for one thing this season it’s the passing game. Led by Taulia  Tagovailoa, the Terps’ have been hitting on all cylinders when throwing the ball. Tagovailoa leads the Big Ten in passing yards (1,464) and touchdown passes (13). The Terrapins, under Mike Locksley, will try to establish the pass on Saturday afternoon as it’s the only real shot that they have to hang with Ohio State.

But this will be Maryland’s toughest test yet as Denzel Burke, David Igbinosun, and Jordan Hancock are all playing great in the secondary for the Buckeyes. I think the Maryland receivers will struggle to get open as the Terrapins will have to rely heavily on its tight ends and running backs coming from the backfield to establish any sort of passing game.

As hard as Maryland will try to throw, it could be a long afternoon for Tagovailoa and this Terrapin passing attack as Denzel Burke and company will be ready and up for the challenge. This could be a game where we see some interceptions.
