How much trust to put in this Ohio State Football team
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has started the season 4-0 so far. They already have a season-defining win with their victory over Notre Dame. Despite the questions that followed this team after the first few weeks, they look like they are hitting their stride.
Offensively, Kyle McCord showed that he has ice in his veins. The running game is starting to hit explosive plays. The Buckeyes also have the best receiving corps in the country. There is just one last level for this offense to hit, and that’s getting more explosive plays in the passing game.
Defensively, the Ohio State football team looks to have their best defense in years. They held an explosive Notre Dame offense to just 14 points. That’s the most amount of points they’ve given up to any opponent this season. It looks like a unit the Buckeyes can lean on.
So how much trust should we have in this Ohio State football team up to this point? With how good the defense is, I think you can put a large amount of trust in this team. They are going to keep this team in every game they play his season. The offense is more of a question.
There are still concerns on the offensive line. Blocking in the run game has been an issue, especially in short-yardage situations. That’s an issue that needs to be fixed once this team plays Penn State. Justin Frye needs to get his unit to provide more of a push up the middle.
This is the perfect time for the bye week right after an emotional win on the road. It gives this team a chance to wind down and collect themselves before starting up Big Ten play again. I think this is a team fans can trust is a true contender to once again make the College Football Playoff.
