Ohio State Football: Buckeyes open as favorite against ND
The Ohio State football team opens as a slight favorite next Saturday when they travel to South Bend to play Notre Dame.
The Ohio State football team took care of business on Saturday afternoon and pummeled Western Kentucky 63-10. Following the victory, the Buckeyes are now a slight favorite heading into next weekend’s big showdown with Notre Dame.
Fan Duel has listed Ohio State as a 3.5-point favorite for the contest while DraftKings has them as a 3-point favorite. These lines seem reasonable given the fact that Ohio State has to travel on the road for this game and that the Fighting Irish are a better team than last season.
Notre Dame is 4-0 on the season with wins over Navy, Tennessee State, North Carolina State, and Central Michigan. Sam Hartman seems to be the real deal at quarterback for the Fighting Irish. The transfer QB from Wake Forrest has thrown for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns thus far this season with zero interceptions.
He arguably had his best game as a Notre Dame player yesterday throwing for 330 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-17 victory against Central Michigan. Both teams appear ready for each other heading into next weekend.
Last year, Ohio State opened the season with a 21-10 victory over Notre Dame in Ohio Stadium. It was a sluggish contest from both sides but that was to be expected for the first game of the season.
But this year, these two teams meet up with multiple games under their belt. Overall, we should see a better brand of football than last year’s game. Kyle McCord will look to cement his spot as the starting Buckeye QB with a victory and hopefully catapult the Buckeyes forward for a great season ahead.
