What is the best game ever in Ohio State football history? 2016, Ohio State vs. TTUN. Everything about this game is perfect, black helmets, double overtime, great rivalry, and potentially the CFP on the line.

The No. 2 Buckeyes played against the No. 3 Wolverines on Nov 26, 2016. Like every year this game was extremely anticipated. Ohio State came out with their black helmets, which some may have not liked but I can say I absolutely loved them.

By halftime, TTUN was up 10-7 on Ohio State. Both defenses were playing well this game, which was making it hard for the offenses to make plays. Both of these teams knew that whoever won had a better chance of making the CFP. So at halftime you know Urban Meyer tried to get his team prepared for another tough half. At that time, Urban Meyer was 4-0 against the Wolverines.

In the third quarter, both teams scored 7 points, making the Buckeyes still down by 3 points going into the final quarter. And 3 points is exactly what they got.

Going into Overtime has to be both exciting and scary. J.T. Barrett continues to show trouble throwing the ball and the defense is so good that there are so many punts back and forth. They ended this Overtime with many mistakes offensively and great plays defensively. 24-24.

Double Overtime begins. TTUN kicks a 37-yard field goal making the score 27-24. The Buckeyes get to have the ball. JT is sacked, forcing a 3rd and 9 from the 24. They give the ball to Samuel and he makes it one yard short. They roll the dice and go for it. Barrett gets the first down! The next play Samuel takes it to the house from the 15-yard line and that ends the game. Making the final score 30-27, putting Ohio State at 11-1 and TTUN at 10-2.

This game should honestly be put in a history book as not only one of the best games ever in Ohio State football history but CFB history too. The feeling of beating a rival in a double overtime is amazing. Beating the Wolverines meant that Urban Meyer was now 5-0 against them.

This also put Ohio State in a better position to make the CFP.  The Buckeyes showed some great effort and this game really shows how good this rivalry is with the Buckeyes and Wolverines.
