The Ohio State football program keeps churning out receivers like clockwork into the NFL. Every year, receivers leave the Buckeyes and contribute immediately to their new NFL team. We saw three Buckeyes get drafted in a row at that position a year ago.

Two of those Buckeyes finished first and second in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, with Garrett Wilson winning. The Jet wide receiver was always considered the most talented Buckeye receiver when he was on the roster and he showed why last night.

In the Jets’ season-opener on Monday night, they were down seven with under five minutes left to go. New York was down to their backup quarterback after Aaron Rodgers got hurt just three plays into the game. Zach Wilson threw a touchdown pass to Wilson in what was an insane catch.

The catch was so good it even surprised Joe Buck while he was on the call for ESPN. Check out the clip. That’s pretty darn good if you ask me. Wilson was able to catch it with one hand after batting it back to himself. His ball skills are absolutely absurd.

That catch helped tie up the game in a crucial moment. The Jets would go on to beat the Bills in overtime In fact, Wilson scored the only offensive touchdown for the Jets. With Rodgers out, he is clearly their best offensive player and someone they need to get the ball to as much as possible.

I wish the Ohio State football team still had him on the roster this year. Imagine him with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. That would be an unstoppable combination of receivers. In any case, Wilson showed that he is already one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Next. Ohio State has a huge left tackle problem. dark

I’d expect him to be a Pro Bowl player this year, even without Rodgers throwing him the ball.
