The Ohio State football team beat IU on Saturday, and like many other teams, there’s a ton to fix. Let’s focus more on Kyle McCord for today though. McCord threw 33 passes completing 20 of them, he got 239 yards, zero touchdowns, and 1 int. The interception is not all his fault. It was just a good read by the defense.

On all of his throws, his game was up and down. He had one good read and then a bad read. Simple mistakes that he needs to fix before playing Penn State and TTUN. He showed us once that if needed he could run, not on the level of Justin Fields of course.

If you look there are at least 5 out of the 20 completed passes he made where the WR saved the ball from being incomplete. A huge concern is that Marvin Harrison Jr. isn’t getting more targets, he was targeted just 6 times and only was able to get to 2 of them.

Ohio State’s next big game will truly be against Notre Dame. Ohio State’s defense should really be the reason the Buckeyes win this game. Even with how many people are saying Notre Dame will be good, I don’t think it should be a problem for their defense. But for Kyle McCord, he needs to start getting all of his stuff together, start leading this talented team, bully some teams, and prove he’s better than what he showed in Week 1.

I can almost guarantee all the way up until gameday, Kyle McCord will be getting tons of work in. Even though this next game against Youngstown should be an easier game, McCord will need to continue to work. By weeks 4,7, and 12 Ohio State should be a completely different team offensively.

Kyle McCord had many good plays, plus a good group of bad plays. In total it’s all in his head, he needs to get rid of any worry of failing, go out play 110%, and win some games this year. There’s no doubt he can take the Ohio State football team to the College Football Playoff if he locks in.
