The Ohio State football team is fresh off their season-opening win against Indiana on Saturday. The score was just 23-3 and the Buckeyes definitely have some things to improve on. This week, they take on the Penguins of Youngstown State in a game that shouldn’t be even that close.

Despite having perfect weather, the Buckeyes managed just two touchdowns in the game, including none through the air. The weather would affect the passing game the most if it is bad, so it was disappointing to see that result from Ohio State’s passing game.

The Buckeyes will be looking to get that on track this week. So how does the weather look for this game at the Shoe in Ohio State’s home opener? Will the weather allow the Ohio State football team to fix that passing game in preparation for their matchup in two weeks against Notre Dame?

The answer is yes. It will be even better weather this weekend in Columbus. It won’t be as hot as it was last weekend against IU, as game time temperature will be about 73 degrees according to the Weather Channel. The high towards the end of the game will be just 77 degrees.

There is no forecast for rain or heavy winds either. That makes the weather perfect for Kyle McCord to be able to sling it around and gain some confidence in himself throwing the ball. That’s exactly what this Ohio State football team needs before the end of the month.

I expect McCord to play better in this game and fully expect him to take full advantage of the good weather. Ryan Day’s play-calling will likely open up as well to allow McCord to throw more down the field and take some shots. That’s something we barely saw last weekend.
