Ohio State Football vs. Indiana: Official prediction
By Ryan Stano
It’s finally almost here! The first game of the Ohio State football season is tomorrow. Everything starts with a game in Bloomington against Indiana. It will be the first time we see Kyle McCord as the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes and he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders.
McCord knows that Devin Brown will get a shot to play as well in this game. Whoever plays the best will likely get the starting job for the rest of the year. I tend to think that McCord will play well enough to keep the job and score a lot of points for the Buckeyes.
As far as the rest of the offense is concerned, I think the Buckeyes will have a big day on the ground. I expect them to have at least 200 yards rushing. Three backs could play in this game while it’s still competitive and a fourth might play in the fourth quarter.
Defensively, I think the defensive line plays very well. I don’t think Indiana is going to be able to run the ball very well. I also think that whichever quarterback they bring out there is going to struggle with the pass rush the Ohio State football team will bring at him.
The secondary may not have a great game for the Buckeyes, but it won’t be hateful. The only way IU has any chance to win this game is to throw the ball a ton. I expect the defense to give up some passing yards and maybe even a passing touchdown, but I don’t expect more than that.
Offical prediction: Ohio State football 56 Indiana 10
I don’t see how the Hoosiers can keep up with the amount of talent the Buckeyes have. The second half will become a blowout and Ohio State will start putting in some backups. IU has just fallen off a cliff in the last couple of years so I don’t see them staying competitive.
I hope I’m right about how things play out!
