Given the criteria and my confidence level in all five categories, I am at a confidence level of 85 percent. Most betting agencies have Ohio State at a 30-point favorite as of publication. I’ve never seen a direct correlation between my confidence level and the spread, but needless to say, it would appear that both are pointing toward a big Ohio State football victory on Saturday.

This percentage would be even higher if not for my lack of confidence in both the offensive line and the quarterback situation heading into game one. Both are the biggest question marks on the team, and both will be answered somewhat come 3:30 pm eastern on Saturday.

If McCord comes out slinging the football around the yard like a three-year veteran and it appears the offensive line is giving him enough time to get the ball into Harrison Jr. and Egbuka’s hands, and TreVeyon Henderson looks like the five-star recruit we witnessed two seasons ago when he was healthy, than no doubt my confidence level will be well over 90-percent next week.

Next. Week one weather report. dark

If McCord looks shaky and Brown plays just as much, making it appear like we may have a quarterback controversy in Columbus, coupled with an offensive line that is still having a difficult time pass-blocking, then my worries will be justified and the big games on the schedule, like the away trips to Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and That Team Up North, along with the home game against Penn State automatically become great concerns.
