Ohio State Football vs. Indiana Week 1 weather report
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team starts its season on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington, Indiana. They will be taking on the Hoosiers in a Big Ten showdown. Now that they officially have a quarterback, they can worry about other things ahead.
Should the Buckeyes and Kyle McCord be worried about the weather though? That would be about the only thing that could slow down this Ohio State offense. IU would welcome some sloppy weather as it would give them a chance to pull a big upset.
Alas, the Hoosiers won’t get it. According to the Weather Channel, the weather is going to be absolutely perfect for this 3:30 kick-off. It will be 85 degrees with light winds blowing at 5-10 mph. There is no rain in the forecast either. It will be a perfect sunny day.
That’s good news for an Ohio State football team trying to integrate a new quarterback and three new starters along the offensive line. Good weather will give them a chance to get McCord in rhythm early. That’s the best-case scenario for a team that needs the quarterback firing on all cylinders by Week 4.
Ohio State really has no excuse to not win this game by a lot. With perfect weather, they shouldn’t have any trouble running the ball. They have all of their backs healthy so that should be a strength of theirs early. IU will come out slinging the ball around too but they shouldn’t be able to hang with the Buckeyes.
It’s good to have some good weather to start the season. I know there will be plenty of Buckeye fans making the trip over to watch this game. Make sure you put on some sunscreen because you’re going to need it! It’d be a shame to get burned during the first game of the year.
