The Ohio State football team is set to take on the Indiana Hoosiers next Saturday in Bloomington. Here are three predictions for the game.

Ohio State football finally kicks off this upcoming Saturday in Bloomington at 3:30 p.m. when the Buckeyes take on the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers have been a program in decline over the past few seasons as they look to regain their 2020 form here in 2023.

And while this might not be the most exciting game on the Ohio State schedule it gives us a chance to take a look at the quarterback battle in a real game. Ryan Day has come out and said that he will use both quarterbacks in Bloomington this weekend. And if one outperforms the other, this could be a crucial game in determining the starting QB moving forward.

Here are three bold predictions for the game on Saturday afternoon.

1. Ohio State football defense shines

I’m not exactly going out on a limb here because the Indiana offense might be that bad, but I believe that Ohio State’s defense under Jim Knowles will give us a preview of what’s to come this season. We’ve been hearing the whispers all camp that this defense could be elite in 2023. Now it’s time to find out if that’s true.

Indiana doesn’t exactly have a starting quarterback either as Tennessee transfer Tayven Jackson and returning redshirt freshman Brendan Sorsby are in a heated battle. I believe that could be a recipe for disaster for the Indiana offense as the Buckeye defense is looking to feast. The Indiana skill position plays aren’t exactly scary either.

I’d expect five team sacks for the Buckeyes and two interceptions as this defense gets off to a hot start in 2023 and gives the offense plenty of opportunities to score.
