Ohio State Football: Betting the Buckeyes in 2023
As the Ohio State football team prepares for its first game at Indiana next weekend, here are some ways you can bet the Buckeyes in 2023.
The Ohio State football team is gearing up for its first game of the 2023 season next Saturday in Bloomington when they take on the Indiana Hoosiers. With a week left before kickoff, now might be an excellent time to get your preseason Ohio State futures bets in. Here we give you some of our favorites as the season is ready to kick off.
Favorite Buckeye to win the Heisman: Marvin Harrison Jr. (+3000 on Fan Duel)
If you had listened when we first suggested this bet back in the Spring, you could have got Marv at 50/1 odds. Now you’re going to have to settle for 30/1 but those are still excellent odds for a player who could be sitting in New York for the Heisman ceremony.
Harrison is going to be targeted plenty by whoever the new quarterback will be. He is the ultimate security blanket for a QB as he catches nearly every darn ball thrown his way. Harrison has the name recognition and should produce the stats. As long as he stays healthy, he should be a shoo-in to be at least a finalist in 2023. This is my favorite Buckeye future bet of 2023 as it provides the most value.
Total Wins for Ohio State: Over 10.5 regular season wins (-115 on Fan Duel)
The Ohio State football team is nearly a lock every season for 11 wins. In fact, they have done it eight times since 2012 and that excludes the pandemic-shortened season of 2021. This could be tough this year however as the Buckeyes do have some tough games between Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin. But if the Buckeyes can survive the season with only one loss, this bet will hit.
Big Ten Conference Champion: Ohio State (+165 on Fan Duel)
This is a bet that I absolutely love and will place. The Big Ten this season should be a three-team race between Ohio State, Michigan, and a vastly improved Penn State team. I believe that the Buckeyes will survive the gauntlet however and they should find themselves in Indy for a chance at a Big Ten Title in 2023.
Emeka Egbuka Receiving Yards: Over 925.5 (-112 on Fan Duel)
This one will come down to the health of Egbuka because as long as he stays healthy, I believe he will win this bet with ease. In fact, I predicted that Egbuka would have a better statistical season than Harrison on his way to the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2023.
TreVeyon Henderson Rushing Yards: Over 1,00.5 (-112 on Fan Duel)
Another bet that I absolutely love. Henderson by all accounts has been on a mission this offseason. The coaches believe that he is in store for a big season in 2023 and I think that running backs coach Tony Alford wants to let him lose and get the majority of the carries. I think Henderson easily gets over 1,000 yards on the ground.
