Ohio State Football has six top-100 players according to ESPN

We are just over two weeks away from the college football season starting. While the Ohio State football team doesn’t play for another three weeks, that hasn’t stopped preseason accolades from being showered on the team. The newest one is from ESPN.
According to their panel of experts, the Buckeyes have six top-100 players in college football. The highest is of course Marvin Harrison Jr. He is ranked third in the country only behind Caleb Williams and Brock Bowers. To be honest, I’m not buying that Bowers is better than Harrison Jr.
After Marvin, Emeka Egbuka is the next highest-ranked player. He sits at 13th. Both receivers are projected to be top-ten picks in next year’s NFL Draft, so it makes sense to see them so high up this list. The next Buckeye doesn’t come until 33rd on this list.
That Buckeye is TreVeyon Henderson. As I wrote yesterday, he is the projected starter on this team because of his big-play ability. His counterpart, Miyan Williams, is also on this list. He sits at 50th. It’s nice to have two running backs be ranked as top-50 players.
In between them is Tommy Eichenberg. He sits at 47th on this list after he had a monster season a year ago. He should be even better this year with another offseason of JIm Knowles’ system under his belt. Now he won’t have to think nearly as much.
The final Ohio State football player on this list is J.T. Tuimoloau. He is 85th on this list. He gets that ranking solely off his monster game against Penn State a year ago. If he has more games like that, he will definitely be a first-round pick like Harrison Jr. and Egbuka.
The Buckeyes need all of these players to play well if they want a shot at a national championship. These are some of the most important players on the squad. Of course, the new starting quarterback is going to have a big say in how far this team goes.
