Ohio State enters this season with quarterback uncertainty for the first time in several years, but there’s no debate who the team’s No. 1 wide receiver is.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the most highly touted wide receiver prospect in more than a decade and has received a ton of buzz for his future NFL career. For now, the Ohio State product is being looked at as a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate.

Harrison is the biggest liability at BetMGM at the moment, as sports bettors flank in on the long shot price of the top receiver in the country.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Heisman Trophy odds

You can find Harrison at as high as +3000 to win the Heisman Trophy, but he would be entering rare air if he was able to cash in. Only five wide receivers have won the Heisman Trophy in the past, most recently in 2020 when DeVonta Smith won the award.

Harrison is most certainly the biggest threat to win the award at wide receiver, but he would need to truly shine in order to win it. If Ohio State reaches the heights that are necessary for Harrison to receive consideration, it’s possible he is outshined by the team’s quarterback, either Kyle McCord or Devin Brown.

While he hauled in 1,263 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 77 catches that pales in comparison to Smith, who he will likely be compared against. In 2020, Smith had 117 catches for 1,856 receiving yards and 23 receiving touchdowns.

Harrison is a superstar, but it may not translate to the Heisman Trophy.
