Ohio State Football: Payton Pierce next Star?

Who is Payton Pierce? Payton Pierce committed to the Ohio State Football program in April of 2023.

Here are some things to know about him. He’s an inside linebacker from Texas. He also gets put in at QB at Lovejoy High School. At the QB position, he has been seen doing a Tim Tebow-style jump pass over the line, or just running it in. Some scouts already are projecting him to be the next Joey Bosa. Pierce has also said he’s already becoming extremely close to the whole defensive staff.

Payton also wrestles in high school. He has only lost one match in his entire life. This comes to prove his athletic ability and how good he is at head-to-head contact. Pierce also has an impressive 4.0 GPA.

Let’s get into how I think he’ll be in college football and for the Ohio State football team. I believe Payton will do very well and add a unique kind of toughness to the Buckeyes’ defense. Now some have been skeptical of Ohio State’s defense for the past couple of years. Quite frankly though they will bounce back I believe this very season, it will be their defensive coordinator’s second year. This means players will be more used to his coaching style and so on.

Pierce will become a standout player very quickly and will be a name many will know. I’m willing to make an extremely bold take and say he will play at the next level in the NFL.

Though it’s too early to really tell, Payton Pierce is most likely a name you will want to remember. It will take time for him to adjust to Ohio State’s environment but once he does be ready to see some helmets come flying off from the hands of Pierce! He should be really good.
