Ohio State football steals another recruit from TTUN
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is trying as hard as they can to improve the defense. Their defense was the reason they didn’t play for a national championship a year ago. The best way to do that? Recruit better than players on that side of the ball.
Ohio State has done that, and have now stolen two recruits from TTUN in the process. They already stole Bryce West from them a few weeks ago. Now, they’ve landed another four-star corner that the Wolverines wanted badly.
Aaron Scott, an in-state product, announced his commitment to the Ohio State football program on Sunday night. He was choosing between the Buckeyes, TTUN, and Oregon as his final three. In the end, he decided that Columbus was the best place for him.
Scott is a really good player. He has excellent ball skills and isn’t afraid to come up and hit someone either. Perhaps the most important thing is that he can play both man and zone coverage equally well. That’s important in Jim Knowles’ system.
Ryan Day is putting together quite a class for 2024. The Buckeyes have the second-best recruiting class in the country. He is doing what needs to be done in order to keep the program as one of the elite ones. While they still need to go up one more level, Day’s recruiting can’t be ignored.
As for getting Scott, it’s great for two reasons. First off, he’s a really good player that should only get better with college coaching. Secondly, Ohio State was able to keep him from going north. That’s a pretty good combination in my opinion!
Ohio State isn’t done yet either. They will be getting some other great recruits later in the Summer and Fall. We’ll be there every step of the way.
