Ohio State Football announces alternate uniforms vs. Michigan State
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has had one game a year when they have worn alternate uniforms in recent years. Different uniforms have been the trend in college football since the start of the 2010s. Itβs really a recruiting tool that programs use.
They have been teasing that they were going to use gray alternate uniforms for the Michigan State game this year. They have been posting photos on social media for the last few weeks of the uniforms, but nothing has been definitive until yesterday.
The Buckeyes officially announced that they will wear all-gray uniforms against Michigan State during the night game on November 11th. They posted full photos of the uniforms on social media, and I must say that they look pretty sick.
Iβm not usually a huge fan of alternate uniforms. I think the Ohio State football program has some of the most iconic uniforms in all of college football. But I understand that they arenβt going away anytime soon. Of the recent alternate uniforms theyβve worn, these are one of my favorites.
The only other ones that are in the conversation are the all-scarlet ones they wore against Penn State. The Buckeyes should still wear their classic uniforms as much as possible. It will be cool to see these uniforms under the lights of the Shoe in November though.
As long as Ohio State stops trying to wear different uniforms for The Game, Iβm okay. Theyβve worn some hideous uniforms for that game in the last decade and it needs to stop. That game should just be about a classic program vs. a classic program.
Whatever uniforms the Buckeyes wear this season, fans are hoping that they can win every game that they play this season.
