The Ohio State Football team had an outstanding offensive line in the 2022 season. Unfortunately for the team, and its fans, the Buckeyes lost three of their best linemen on the O-line. Those three linemen were the two tackles Paris Johnson Jr. and Dawand Jones, and center Luke Wypler.

With Ohio State coming in with a new quarterback, whether it be McCord or Brown, they need to be putting extra time on the field to help get ready to block. The senior Josh Fryar is looking to be the new starter for either tackle spot.

The Buckeyes could also be starting newly transferred Victor Cutler Jr. Cutler previously played at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. The Eleven Warriors site had this to say about Victor,

"“Cutler was the Warhawks’ starting left tackle in 2022 and also has experience starting at center and right tackle.”"

He could be the answer to the Ohio State football team’s problem at center.

Ohio State also picked up another transfer, and his name is Josh Simmons. “He’s got a really good skill set,” Justin Frye, the offensive linemen coach at Ohio State, said. “Younger guy. I mean, you lose Luke, you lose Paris, those are two three-and-done guys. So the middle of your roster there, just your room in general, so able to step in and do that. But the good thing about him was I recruited him out of high school the first time. Had some awareness of his skill set… I understand what he can do, and then watched his tape last year. He’s going to have a chance to come in and help us win games, and that’s what he’s got to do.”

Some other linemen that could Ohio State could potentially start this coming year could be, fourth-year tackle Jakob James, fifth-year tackle Enokk Vimahi, and fourth-year tackle Trey Leroux.

As for the guard position on the line, the Buckeyes have two returning guards, sixth-year right guard Matthew Jones and third-year left guard Donovan Jackson. These two players will help tremendously with both the center and the tackles.

At the end of the day, fans shouldn’t worry. Whoever the quarterback is will have a good O-line that is ready at the very start of the season. I believe Ohio State’s O-line might even be top 10 in the 2023 season!
