The Ohio State football team is trying to wrap up their 2024 class with a strong finish. They are currently ranked second in the recruiting rankings thanks to a bevy of great offensive players in the class. Now, they are trying to shore up the defensive side of the ball in this class.

Four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa would go a long way to helping the Buckeyes achieve that goal. He is from St. John Bosco out in New Jersey and is set to make his final decision on Sunday. He is down to three schools: Ohio State, Notre Dame, and USC.

Viliamu-Asa is rated as the 8th-best linebacker in the country and stands at 6’3 and 230 pounds. He’s really good at stopping the run inside but is pretty good in coverage, especially on tight ends. He’s exactly the type of linebacker Jim Knowles is looking for in his defensive scheme.

Viliamu-Asa officially visited each of his final three choices in June. He went to USC first and then went to Notre Dame and Ohio State in back-to-back weeks. It’s good that the Buckeyes got the final impression on this kid so maybe that helps push him to the Buckeyes.

This is one of the rare instances in which no one knows which way he’s leaning. Despite making his decision this weekend, no one has a prediction for where this kid will end up. He’s keeping things very close to the chest, which is somewhat refreshing in my mind.

dark. Next. Ohio State has never beaten these seven teams

This would be a really nice addition to the Ohio State football team. Viliamu-Asa is a really good player and is still getting better. He’s someone who could play next to C.J. Hicks in years to come. I’d love to see those two great linebackers share the field in a Buckeye uniform.
