NIL collective selling tickets to Ohio State Football practice
By Ryan Stano
We know that NIL started off slowly for the Ohio State football program. They have been getting better in that area though. NIL collectives are getting creative in the ways that they are raising money to help the program get more money for recruits.
One NIL collective is offering one of the best perks I’ve seen so far for fans who are donating money to an NIL collective. Fans can purchase tickets to practices in the Fall by donating to this collective. It’s a very interesting perk for some lucky Buckeye fans.
I won’t name the collective because I don’t want collectives DMing me to promote whatever perk they are offering. But this is certainly better than one collective offering a chance to watch a live taping of Ryan Day’s podcast. Who wants to sit through something like that?
It’s unclear when these practices will take place in the Fall. My guess is that the quarterback job will have been decided by the time they let these fans observe practice. We do know that it will be during Fall camp in August, so my guess is that it would be towards the end of the month.
The tickets for the practices are $30 a ticket and a fan can get up to five of them. 500 of them will be sold. That’s actually not a bad deal for a superfan. Considering how expensive it is to actually attend a game at the Shoe this year, this isn’t a bad alternative.
This is the type of stuff I like to see from the NIL collectives. I like them getting creative with the perks that fans receive for donating money to their cause. So far, this is the only one that I would consider donating to just because of that specific perk. It’s a cool idea.
