5. Georgia

Adding another SEC team to the list, Georgia is the team that beat Ohio State to end their 2022 season. It was a painful loss for the Buckeyes. Had they made that last-second field goal, they would have played TCU for a national championship. They would have won that game for sure.

The Buckeyes had only played the Bulldogs one other time heading into last year’s matchup. That was all the way back in 1993. Of course, the Buckeyes lost that game too. They lost that game 21-14. Both of the Buckeyes’ losses have been by just one score.

These two teams have a scheduled series in 2030 and 2031, so they will play at least two more times in the next decade. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see these two storied programs play again before that series happens. They are both CFP regulars.

With the Playoff expanding to 12 teams after this season, the Buckeyes and Bulldogs will definitely face off against each other in another playoff game. Georgia is the standard in college football right now. They are who Ohio State aspires to be.
