The Ohio State football team has the best recruiting class in the Big Ten for the 2024 class. They passed TTUN for that a couple of weeks ago and haven’t looked back. In fact, they have the second-best recruiting class in the entire country as it stands now.

While the Ohio State football program chases a recruiting national championship, other Big Ten programs are trying to just not get left in the dust. Behind Ohio State, just two more Big Ten programs sit in the top ten of the recruiting rankings at the moment.

TTUN sits at fourth with already 25 commits. They might add one or two more kids, but their class is pretty full. There’s really no way for them to overtake Ohio State, even if they do somehow steal Aaron Scott from the Buckeyes. The other Big Ten school is Penn State, which sits at seventh.

There are only three other programs that are currently in the top 25 of the rankings. Nebraska sits at 16th under new head coach Matt Rhule. Wisconsin is at 24th under new coach and former Buckeye head coach Luke Fickell. Perhaps the biggest surprise sits at 18th overall.

That program is Purdue. The Boilermakers sit at a very respectable 18th overall. That’s one spot higher than Texas sits right now. They have 20 commits with most of those being three-star recruits, so they will likely get passed by a bunch of programs soon. Still, that’s good for them.

dark. Next. Ohio State foe may lose head coach

As you can see, the Buckeyes are by far and away the best recruiters in the Big Ten this year. That has been the case for the better part of the decade. It’s up to Ryan Day to keep converting those recruiting wins into actual wins on the field this Fall.
