The Ohio State football program has been doing a great job recruiting in the last few weeks. They’ve grabbed a cornerback, a quarterback for 2025, andjust grabbed a five-star recruit on the defensive line. Things have been going great for them on the recruiting front.

As it stands right now, they sit second in the recruiting rankings. Georgia is the only team ahead of them right now. They also have five more commitments than the Buckeyes do at the moment, so that could change once Ohio State gets to that 22 commitment number.

Ohio State only has 17 commitments for the 2024 class so far. Yet, this is a class that could be very full. It’s not out of the question that they take 28 or 29 guys. If they already sit at two in the rankings right now, they can definitely jump the Bulldogs for the top spot.

Not only are the Buckeyes second, but no one has more five-star recruits than the Ohio State football program right now. They have four of them. The next closest is Georgia with three. The Buckeyes might not be done grabbing five-stars in this class either.

It’s been great to see the recruiting picking up for Ryan Day and his staff. He is at a crossroads in his Ohio State coaching career. Having lost two-straight games to TTUN, he is facing an enormous amount of pressure heading into this season. He’s also breaking in a new quarterback.

Getting the future set is something that could help save his job if he does lose a third-straight game to TTUN. That’s the game that every Ohio State football fan has circled every year, and even more so this season. We’ll have to see if he’s up to the challenge once late November rolls around.
