Ohio State football vs. Sun Belt

James Madison University: Considering the Dukes just started playing in the FBS last year, this isn’t surprising to see. I wouldn’t count on this being a matchup anytime soon.

Coastal Carolina: This is probably the best program in the Sun Belt Conference. Grayson McCall helped them become a very good team in 2021. Ohio State may schedule them sometime down the road because of that success.

Appalachian State: Everyone remembers the famous upset App St. had over TTUN in 2007 when the Mountaineers were still in the FCS. Now that they are at the FBS level, I don’t see the Buckeyes scheduling them.

Georgia Southern: I don’t see any reason Ohio State would bring Georgia Southern up for a football game. That’s not one that will fill the Shoe up.

Georgia State: The same goes for Georgia State. There are plenty of better programs in the MAC to bring in.

Old Dominion: The only reason to ever bring ODU in for a game is because of their proximity to Virginia Beach. That’s a recruiting hotbed. But considering Ohio State already recruits nationally, I don’t see that happening.

South Alabama: This is the only FBS team from Alabama that Ohio State hasn’t played. I don’t see that changing anytime soon either.

Louisiana: I could see the Buckeyes bringing in the Ragin’ Cajuns at some point. They aren’t a bad football program and could be a nice non-conference game to play early on in the year.

UL Monroe: Ohio State might not ever play this program. I can’t find one good reason why they would.

Texas State: The Bobcats have only been in the FBS since 2012 so it makes sense they’ve never played Ohio State.

There you have it! Every team the Ohio State football team has yet to play. Some of them will be playing the Buckeyes for the first time in the next few years. Others might not ever get the chance.
