The gambling rules in the NFL are quite clear. You can’t bet on any NFL games but you can bet on other sports as long as you aren’t at the team facility or anywhere traveling with the team. Those aren’t hard rules to follow, yet another former Ohio State football player failed to do so.

We told you about Jameson Williams getting suspended six games for violations of the gambling policy. He only got six games because he was betting on other sports while in the team facility. Now another former Ohio State football player is getting a six-game suspension.

That player is Nicholas Petit-Frere. NPF was a steller tackle for the Buckeyes from 2018-2021. He was a Second-Team All-American starting at left tackle for Ohio State in 2021. He was a third-round pick by the Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft, so he was just a rookie last season.

Despite being a third-rounder, he was the starting right tackle for the Titans last year as a rookie. Now, he gets popped six games for something that’s very easy to avoid. This is extremely disappointing to see as NPF had a really good year as a rookie.

Now he has to rebuild trust within the organization and try to get that starting job back when he comes back. They may have even been thinking of moving him to left tackle after they released Taylor Lewan after last season. Now, the Titans are screwed at tackle.

This should serve as a lesson to everyone in the NFL about the gambling rules. My team, the Colts, is about to suspend a starting corner for the entire season because he bet on NFL games. It sounds like he may have even bet on Colts games. That’s a huge no-no.

Hopefully, NPF is able to learn from this mistake and continue building on what was a great rookie season.
