This past week, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh took a subtle shot at Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team when Cleveland Glenville cornerback, and Michigan recruiting target, Bryce West told the Rivals Network that Harbaugh told him, “The best players in Ohio come play at Michigan.”

Like a bunch of sheep, the Maize and Blue faithful went to social media to claim that this was West now leaning toward Michigan while simultaneously rubbing salt in the wound of Buckeye Nation. Harbaugh has secured commitments from four of the top 14 recruits from the state of Ohio according to 247sports, and has another one in the top 10 leaning toward Ann Arbor as well in the form of edge rusher Brian Robinson from Youngstown, Ohio.

However, concerning West, the joke was on Harbaugh and the TUN fans as West was on his official visit to the Ohio State football program over the weekend. On Saturday he made his commitment to Ohio State official, and then dropped this tweet for everyone to see, taking a not-so-subtle shot at Harbaugh.

With West’s commitment, Ohio State officially jumped Michigan in all of the major recruiting services for the best recruiting class in the Big 10. The Buckeyes don’t appear to be finished either with several other big-name recruits who appear to be leaning toward becoming Buckeyes once their high school careers are finished.

If recent trends continue, Alabama will finish the recruiting cycle strong and find itself battling Georgia for the top class once again. Ohio State could find themselves in third or fourth overall if they can land another five-star blue chip recruit along with a couple of high four-star guys.

The other two schools who appear to have good momentum in recruiting and could challenge Ohio State in the top three when it is all said and done are Florida and Clemson, both of which have a pair of five-star recruits already committed.
