Former Ohio State football player and current Cincinnati Bengal Drue Chrisman has been using his free time to be a DoorDash delivery driver. But there is a catch. All of the proceeds he earns through his work as a delivery driver he then spends on feeding the hungry in and around the city of Cincinnati.

Chrisman told WCPO tv in Cincinnati that at first, he decided to do it just to get out and get a little more exercise. That was when he noticed something that he just couldn’t ignore. “While I was riding around town, I would see people on the street and it just kind of broke my heart,” Chrisman said. “You really do see more people than I like on the street, homeless or just asking for any kind of handout, so I was like, I don’t think there would be any better use of this money than to deliver more food to people who need it more.”

Ohio State football players have a long-standing tradition of “paying it forward,” which was a concept preached by Buckeye head coaching legend Woody Hayes. It is apparent that Chrisman adopted that ideology himself and is now sharing his good fortunes with the less fortunate of the Queen City.
