The Ohio State football program is trying to keep its momentum on the recruiting trail going this weekend. They were able to get their quarterback for 2025 a few days ago, but now they turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball this weekend.

Bryce West, a cornerback from Cleveland Glenville High School, will be in Columbus. He is choosing between the Ohio State football program and TTUN. He’s rated as the best corner in the state of Ohio, so he’s definitely someone Ryan Day would love to get.

Not only would it be great to get him because of his talent, but because of the fact that they would pull him away from Michigan. West is projected to be a Buckeye right now. A really good visit this weekend could push him to make a commitment after he visited Michigan earlier in the month.

West would give the Buckeyes some much-needed help in the secondary. The cornerback position is in desperate need of upgrades. West would certainly be an upgrade, even if he is a little on the shorter side at 5’11. His speed and ball skills more than make up for that.

The thing that I like the most about West is his ability to come up and hit someone in the running game. A lot of corners shy away from helping in the run game. That’s not an issue with West. He won’t let someone bust open a run on the outside. He’ll make them feel a big hit instead.

We’ll certainly be monitoring how the visit goes this weekend. West is one of several cornerbacks that the Buckeyes have their eyes on in the 2024 recruiting class. Getting West could help start a cavalcade of commitments from that position group as the Summer rolls long.
