It’s never good when anyone is taken to the hospital for any reason. Health is something we always wish for people to have. The Ohio State football team is no exception. Even so, a Buckeye was admitted to the hospital yesterday and we told you about it.

Zak Herbstreit, a walk-on tight end with the Ohio State football team, had been admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed medical issue. He had been listed in stable condition, so it seemed like whatever medical issue he had wasn’t too serious, which is a good thing.

Now, we have learned that he was admitted due to some heart issues. He isn’t being specific when it comes to what the issue was. That’s not surprising at all considering it’s his own health history. But he has officially been released from the hospital, which is great news.

We will see how long it takes him to get back with the team, but the concern first and foremost is about his health. It’s obviously very good that he has been released and that he won’t be there any longer, but I’m sure he’s itching to get back into workouts and on the field.

It’s unclear if we’ll ever learn why he was in the hospital in the first place. But as I mentioned before, this is obviously personal information. Herbstreit doesn’t have to tell us anything. I just hope that whatever issue he had is now fixed so that he doesn’t have to make any more ER visits.
