Ohio State Football gets a 2025 quarterback commit
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team already has their quarterback for 2024 in Air Noland. He was someone that the Buckeyes targeted after Dylan Raiola decided to de-commit. After that happened, the Buckeyes quickly zeroed in on who they wanted.
Ryan Day already had a target in mind for the 2025 class too and he just landed him. Quarterback Tavien St. Clair decided to commit to the Ohio State football program on Wednesday evening. He is a three-star quarterback in that class out of Bellefontaine, Ohio.
While he’s just a three-star prospect right now, he can certainly increase that ranking with some good play over the next couple of seasons. He stands at 6’3 and 210 pounds, so that’s a pretty good size for a QB. He had 25 offers from across the country and decided that he wanted to stay home.
In his high school season in 2022, St. Clair threw for 2,453 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. What’s even better is that he completed 70.7% of his passes. He clearly is very accurate and does a good job of making decisions under pressure.
I haven’t seen much of his tape, so I can’t give my opinion on how good I think he is. I can say that Day clearly sees some potential in St. Clair. I also think that this might not be the only quarterback that Day takes in next year’s class. I could see Ohio State looking to get someone else too.
I do think that the maximum number of quarterbacks the Buckeyes would take in that class is two. I think that St. Clair can improve his ranking even more during this camp cycle as well. Once he is able to get in front of more coaches and evaluators, that ranking should go up.
It’s good to see the Buckeyes get a BOOM!
