Ohio State Football seems to have locked down 5-star recruit
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is trying to keep its strong recruiting going. While they aren’t in the top three of the recruiting rankings right now, that could change very soon based on the information that has been coming from a visit involving a five-star recruit.
That five-star recruit is Eddrick Houston, a defensive lineman from Buford, Georiga. He is listed as the fourth-best defensive lineman in the country. He’s also projected to head to Ohio State after a stellar visit this weekend with Larry Johnson and the rest of the staff.
Houston has offers from all of the big boys. Other than the Ohio State football program, he also has offers from USC, Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. Those are some of the best programs in the country. it makes sense when you look at his tape and see him play.
Houston stands at 6’3 and 255 pounds. He can play both defensive tackle and defensive end and has done both at the high school level. At the college level, how much weight he adds will be a determining factor in which position he ends up playing more.
If he does choose Ohio State, Johnson would likely have him rotate at each position because of how good he is. It’s good to be able to play both inside and outside in Jim Knowles’ system. Houston would be yet another five-star recruit that Johnson has brought into Columbus.
We won’t know officially until August 22nd whether or not they land him. That’s the date that he has set when he’ll announce his commitment decision. Based on all of the things he’s said, Buckeye fans should expect Houston to announce he’s coming to Columbus.
