For the last couple of weeks, some Ohio State football fans have been getting antsy about a five-star recruit taking visits to other schools. That’s because this particular recruit is the number-two prospect in the country and is currently committed to the Buckeyes.

That recruit of course is Jeremiah Smith. He is the second-best recruit in the 2024 class and is listed as the best receiver in the class. He committed to the Ohio State football program back in December. Despite that, he’s been taking official visits to schools.

Smith took to social media for a post that seems to re-affirm his commitment to the Buckeyes.

As you can see. he seems pretty locked into his choice. I understand why Buckeye fans were getting scared though. In the world of NIL, nothing is done until the letter of intent is signed. I’m sure there are still fans that don’t even believe this post from Smith to be true.

This is obviously a good sign for Ohio State. It would be devastating to lose the top two overall recruits in the same recruiting year. Dylan Raiola has already chosen Georgia after de-committing from the Buckeyes just after Smith committed. I’m glad we won’t see that again.

The Buckeyes are still hard at work on the recruiting trail this offseason. This month is a big month for commitments for the 2024 cycle. This is when camps start, so recruits start to make decisions. There should be plenty of recruits choosing Ohio State this month and next month.

Next. Jim Knowles says he will unleash former five-star recruit. dark

As always, we will keep you up to date on the recruiting trail. For now, this is a nice mini-win for Buckeye fans that were concerned about losing the best recruit Ohio State has signed in this class.
