The offensive line

Another great part of the Ohio State football team over Urban Meyer’s coaching tenure. That’s part of what made the running game so potent in Meyer’s offense. The Buckeyes also had some pretty good pass-blockers during Meyer’s time too. Here is the list:

LT: Taylor Decker

LG: Wyatt Davis

C: Corey Linsley

RG: Pat Elflein

RT: Jack Mewhort

The offensive line selections were fairly cut and dry for me. Decker was pretty darn good in his Ohio State football career, starting every game from his sophomore year to his senior season. He went on to be a first-round pick of the Detroit Lions.

Davis was perhaps the easiest pick on this list because of the accolades he received while playing for the Buckeyes. He was a two-time consensus All-American and won the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2020. He only played two seasons under Meyer though.

Linsley is often forgotten, but was an absolute stud at center. He then got the highest contract for a center in the NFL when he got extended by the Packers. Elflein was versatile and started his career at guard before playing his final season at center. Mewhort was an All-American in his senior season before being drafted by the Colts.

So that’s the entire offense. Now, we move to the defense where tough calls are going to have to be made at almost every position. First, we give you the defensive line.
