Ohio State Football all-time Urban Meyer team
By Ryan Stano
WR: Chris Olave
Chris Olave was unknown until the third Saturday in November 2018. Even hardcore Ohio State football fans didn’t really know who he was. That day was his coming out party. He blocked a punt and caught two touchdown passes in a huge victory over TTUN.
The rest was history. While the 2018 season was the only one he played under Meyer, that helped him become the player he is today. He ended his Buckeye career catching a whopping 35 touchdowns in his career, including 13 in his final season in 2021.
Olave has a great ability to do everything really well. He is fast enough to go deep, he can track the ball when it’s thrown deep, and he has good enough hands to make tough catches. He is an excellent route-runner too. Quite frankly, he’s the total package.
Olave made the Buckeyes’ offense a lot more dangerous when he was on the field. He finished second behind his former Buckeye teammate Garrett Wilson for NFL Rookie of the Year honors last season. That’s how good he was as a football player at Ohio State.
I really hope he continues to succeed at the next level. He’s one of my favorite Buckeyes in recent memory and has all the tools he needs to be really good in the NFL for a long time. Next, we’ll take a look at who makes the team on the offensive line.
