The Ohio State football team has offered another in-state cornerback recruit. Teryhon Nichols is the latest to receive an offer.

The Ohio State football program is on the search for corners in 2024. Cornerbacks coach Tim Walton has been lucky that he hasn’t had to travel far for some good defensive back recruits. A few weeks back we told you that the Buckeyes were on the verge of signing two in-state top 100 national players at corner in Bryce West and Aaron Scott.

Now Walton has turned his attention to a third in-state player as well. Four-star corner Teryhon Nichols received an offer earlier this week. Nichols stands at six foot tall and weighs 180 pounds so he has great size already for the position. The Withrow High School player, outside of Cincinnati is warm on a number of schools including Michigan, Penn State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh.

The No. 321 player in the nation is starting to gain attention on the recruiting front and is probably seen to be a consolation prize for the Buckeyes if they don’t land either West or Scott. And while Scott has been seen as an Ohio State lean for a while now, the Michigan Wolverines have really stepped up the recruitment of him and he seems to be at least entertaining the idea of playing in Ann Arbor.

But don’t expect a commitment from Scott anytime soon he is still pondering his options. He told this to Eleven Warriors last weekend at the Ohio Under Armor Camp:

"“I feel like the decision is really going to come down to just getting that gut feeling, for real. Because I got a couple schools in mind, I feel like once I know it’s time, then I’ll make the decision.”"

Next. 3 coaches more annoying than Dabo Swinney. dark

The need is huge for the Ohio State football program to get some solid corners in the 2024 recruiting cycle. If the Buckeyes can just keep its in-state players in the class that should be more than enough. Hopefully one of these guys commits soon to start the domino effect.
