The Ohio State football program has recruited and developed well enough over the past decade that an NFL team could literally field an entire roster full of former Buckeyes. One might argue that the Cleveland Browns might actually be attempting that very thing given the fact that in their past draft, they picked up both Dawand Jones and Luke Wypler during the draft, and then they also added Ronnie Hickman and Tanner McCalister following the draft as undrafted free agents.

On the most recent episode of The OHIO Podcast, hosts Eric Boggs and Chris Wilds each picked starting lineups. They drafted 11 starters each on offense and 11 starters each on defense. You can watch how the draft unfolded in the video provided if interested.

Eric’s starting lineup is the following:

Offense: (QB) Justin Fields, (RB) Ezekiel Elliott, (WR) Terry McLaurin, Chris Olave, Curtis Samuel, (TE) Jeremy Ruckert, (OL) Corey Linsley, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Dawand Jones, Josh Myers, & Jamarco Jones.

Defense: (DL) Nick Bosa, Joey Bosa, Cameron Heyward, Davon Hamilton, (LB) Pete Werner, Raekwon McMillan, Malik Harrison, (CB) Marshon Lattimore, Denzel Ward, (S) Malik Hooker, Jordan Fuller.

Chris’ starting lineup is the following:

Offense: (QB) C.J. Stroud, (RB) J.K. Dobbins, (WR) Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Michael Thomas, (TE) Nick Vannett, (OL) Taylor Decker, Paris Johnson Jr., Jonah Jackson, Andrew Norwell, Luke Wypler.

Defense: (DL) Chase Young, Sam Hubbard, Dre’mont Jones, Johnathan Hankins, (LB) Jerome Baker, Baron Browning, (CB) Jeff Okudah, Bradley Roby, Shaun Wade, (S) Vonn Bell, Ronnie Hickman.

Who had the better draft? Are you team Justin Fields or do you think C.J. Stroud and his former Buckeyes would win in a head-to-head contest? Although we would never see this amazing game, we will see Justin Fields go head-to-head against C.J. Stroud at some point. It won’t happen in 2023 however, as the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans are not scheduled to play one another this fall.
