The Ohio State football program has seen a couple of receivers transfer out of the program this Spring. They did so because they clearly weren’t going to see playing time any time soon because of what’s in front of them now and what is behind them coming in next season.

One of those receivers who entered the portal is Kaleb Brown. Brown was the second of the receivers to decide to leave, the other being Caleb Burton. Brown is the first to decide where he will be transferring to though as he made that announcement yesterday.

Brown will be staying in the Big Ten and will be headed to Iowa. I find this extremely strange, to be honest with you. Did you watch Iowa’s offense last season? They were second to last in the country in total yards, 8th to last in passing yards, and 9th to last in points.

That doesn’t exactly scream efficiency. For a former four-star receiver to want to go there is extremely surprising. They also still have Spencer Petras there as quarterback. Maybe he’s hoping Cade McNamara will win the starting job after coming in from TTUN.

I will say that Brown immediately becomes the biggest offensive threat that the Hawkeyes have. Even though he saw almost no time on the field with the Ohio State football team he might be able to win a starting spot with Iowa. He’s the most talented guy they have.

I’m going to be very interested to see how he does in their offense. The Buckeyes do not take on Iowa this season so the only way they could play each other is in the Big Ten Championship Game. I don’t think the Hawkeyes are good enough to be making that trip this season.
