The Ohio State football program surprisingly had just one player taken on Friday during the second and third rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft. Luke Wypler was not they guy who was taken though. He was expected to be a third-round pick at the very least but slid down.

Wypler did a good job while he was with the Buckeyes after being thrust into the starting center role following Harry Miller’s abrupt retirement from football. Wypler played well the last two seasons and decided to leave early this year for the Draft.

Following his slide, he perhaps should have stayed another year with the Ohio State football program. But his slide is finally over. He is headed to the Cleveland Browns along with his fellow offensive lineman Dawand Jones.

Wypler is the 190th overall pick and was taken in the 6th round. He is someone that played well but it was a mild surprise when he declared for the Draft. He’s good, but I’m not sure that he was declare early for the Draft good.

The former Ohio State football player will now be staying in the state of Ohio. While he won’t be a starter anytime soon, he gives them some depth up front. He is someone that will have to work if he’s going to see playing time. He will be a solid backup though.

Even though he had to wait longer than he thought, he’s finally in the NFL. He’ll have a good career in my opinion.
